Selling

We research the pieces that we sell and issue receipts with this detailed information. Purchases may be made by credit or debit card, cash, or by check. Payments by check must be pre-approved.

Consignment

We consider consignments of antiques, dating from the 18th through the early 20th century. Photographs are very helpful. After an item is accepted for sale on consignment, it is the responsibility of the consignor to bring the item to our shop. We can provide help with transportation arrangements. When the consigned item arrives at our shop, we will do an appraisal of the item. The consignor is not charged for this appraisal, as it is part of the consignment service. Consignors of furniture receive 50% of the selling price. Consignors of items which are not furniture, receive 60% of the selling price. Consignment contracts have a period of 6 months.

Appraisals

Elizabeth Jane Barber is a member of the American Society of Appraisers. We offer appraisals of silver, china, and glassware from the 18th to the early 20th century. Appraisals must be scheduled. The fee for our appraisal service is $125.00 per hour. Photographs are advisable in advance of scheduling an appraisal.

Shipping

We can arrange for the shipment of purchases from our shop. The purchaser is responsible for shipping costs which are additional to the purchase price. Shipment is through UPS ground unless otherwise specified by the purchaser. For items that cannot be shipped by UPS, we will help the purchaser with alternative shipping options.
