Chinese Kang Cabinet

Chinese pine kang cabinet, fitted with small drawers and panels flanking a small compartment enclosed by doors, carved in relief with auspicious emblems including those from the Pa pao and deer. Original brass hardware including flower-basket drop-pulls for the drawers. The end panels are removable and conceal hidden compartments. Nineteenth century. Good overall condition. Japanese 19th Century Candle

Japanese 19th century candle-lantern in pine, having a square base with blown-out walls, fitted with a small drawer, mounted with an arched superstructure comprised of two posts mortised on trefoil-bases which are fitted with a hand-carved pronged candle cup centered in a square framed shade covered in rice-paper with black calligraphy. Fine pair of Japanese signed Kinkosan Satsuma painted pottery moon vases, round cushion-forms, symmetrically decorated with opposing large round scenic reserves raised upon a light blue-grey ground that is strewn with grasses and geese in flight between small colorful maple leaves sprinkled on a short lipped neck and a tall flared oblong foot.
