American Western Bronze, "Cowboy riding a bucking bronco"

Bronze American Western Sculpture by the Austrian Sculptor Carl Kauba (b.1865, d. 1922), :"Cowboy Riding a Bucking Bronco," mounted on a polished dark green rectangular marble base.  Dating is late 19th Century to early 20th Century. 
   A cast bronze sculpture with a rich dark brown patina, depicting an iconic image of the American West, a cowboy riding a bucking horse, waving his hat above his head while holding the reins with his left hand.  The mounded base is incised with the last name of the artist "Kauba," beside the foundry mark composed of the conjoined initials "HR."  Carl Kauba was born in Austria in 1865, and studied sculpture in Vienna under Carl Washmann and Stefan Schwartz.  He is noted for his bronze sculptures depicting figures from the American West during the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, using local Austrian foundries.  Many of his sculptures were exported into The United states between 1895 and 1912.
   Measures 16" overall; the stature is 14 1/4" tall, 8 1/4" long and 3" wide; the marble base is 1 3/4" tall, 6 3/4" long and 4 3/4" wide.  Excellent condition.  $2,875.00.
