Cranberry Vasa Murrhina glass basket with amber handle

Victorian Vasa Murrhina glass basket, in deep cranberry-red colored glass imbued with swirled caramel-colored spatters and gold aventurine, free-blown with an ovate bowl edged by twelve crimps enclosing a cupped rim, mounted with an amber-colored looping handle molded as a thorny vine.

   Dating is late 19th Century to early 20th Century.  Wheel-polished pontil.  Good condition.  Measures 8 7/8" tall and 4" diameter. $245.00
