Sheraton Two Drawer Sewing Stand

F1880a. English Sheraton Two Drawer Sewing Case having a rectangular, slightly
overhanging top above a tongue- in- groove drawer case having two graduated swell
front drawers each with period Sheraton brass knobs, and conforming side rails.
The front edge of the top and the front of the case, including the drawer fronts
are surfaced with crotch mahogany. The bottom edge of the case is beaded. It is
mounted on four turned baluster ring and ball legs. The top appears to be original. It is possible that the top was surfaced with crotch mahogany over cherry. Some separation in the two back top boards, probably caused by shrinkage.
