French Limoges Art Nouveau painted porcelain tray with poppies

Art Nouveau French Limoges porcelain painted round tray, richly decorated with a large spray of Oriental red poppies arching around the border, against a pale green background deepened with dark-purple and dark brown and dark green shading behind the foliage, and with orange-red along the lower border, mirroring the colors of the flowers.  The foliage is rendered with a soft ``blurred`` impressionistic style.

   Made by Tressemanes and Vogt in Limoges, France, probably duringthe latter portion of the period c. 1892-1907; hand-painted before 1920.  The bottom surface is underglaze printed in dark green with a maker mark composed of the abbreviated boxed pottery name, ``T & V,```above the French city location ``FRANCE.``` The artist signature ``Galpin`` is hand-painted in black among the foliage.  Good condition.  Measures 11 1/4`` diameter. $165.00
