English Clarke Cricklite Fairy Lamp, having a deep cranberry-pink Mother-of-Pearl diamond-quilted satin glass domed shade fitted to a colorless press-molded candle-cup.
The candle-cup is designed with a deep recessed center adorned with sharp-diamonds circumscribing the exterior walls, a round-petal flowerhead on the bottom centering a trademark, and a short flange banded with forty-two raised radiating ribs correspondiing to scallops edging a short gallery. The trademark on thebase consists of a circular inscription "CLARKES PATENT TRADEMARK CRICKLITE" enclosing a fairy dancing and holding a wand in her right hand. The tradename "Cricklite" was first registered in 1884 by Samuel Clarke for Clarkes Pyramid and Fairy Light Company LImited, operating in London, England.
Good condition with two smoothed rim scallops. Measures 5" tall and 3 3/4" diameter. $265.00
